County Special Education Director Details Services

Cindy Smith, executive of Rusk County Special Education Shared Services Arrangement, led the club’s module Tuesday.
Smith mentioned the Rusk County SESS serves about 256 students in Carlisle, Laneville, Leverett’s Chapel, Mount Enterprise, Overton and Tatum college districts.
“We have to ensure that if there are any young kids with a incapacity that reside in the state of Texas that you pick out them, fix up them and weigh them,” Smith said.

The SESS moreover conducts evaluations by an Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee discussion and pciking up data from parent’s, teacher’s and grades to establish if a youngster meets the criteria for special education and has a need for specifically written instruction, she said.
Specifically written direction is blending to fit a definite child’s needs and follows manners beneath the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Texas Board of Education guidelines, she said.
“It’s not a size fits all,” Smith said.
The individualized education module ensures the students are served in the smallest limited environment, with the objective to have them in periodic classrooms as ample as probable with young kids who do not have disabilities, she said.
